Thanks for the ID! I saw this along the main hiking trail to St. Mary's Peak on the MT side of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness (near Stevensville, MT). It was probably about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way to the top, still well below treeline. Pretty close to where a side trail goes off to the left to access a small lake. I've never seen one before and was glad I could get a few quick photos.
