6234 - Emmelina monodactyla? - Stenoptilia

6234 - Emmelina monodactyla? - Stenoptilia
8 mi. SW of Wimberley, Comal County, Texas, USA
February 10, 2008
Size: ~2cm wingspan
Attracted to incandescent light. I believe a 5x5 sector of the window screen is 1 sq.cm, so maybe it's 21-22mm in wingspan.

This is Hellinsia longifrons
This is Hellinsia longifrons (Walsingham). It does look similar to Emmelina monodactyla but the wing tips have a different shape and check out the snout (front or frons). You can see it is quite long (compare with monodactyla images), hence the name longifrons.
