Spotted Butterfly - Asterocampa celtis

Spotted Butterfly - Asterocampa celtis
Riley's Lock, C&O Canal, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA
July 28, 2019
My initial guess was either American lady or painted lady, https://bugguide.net/node/view/236368
but this butterfly seems to have a large number of eyespots on the visible wing.

Moved from ID Request.

Eyed Butterfly
I think you may have a Hackberry emperor (Asterocampa celtis)
