aquatic insect

aquatic insect
Lusby, Calvert County, Maryland, USA
July 26, 2019
Size: approx 1.5 inches
Caught while dip netting in a freshwater swamp with low to moderate water quality (also caught leeches, tadpoles, and dragonfly nymphs). This insect was very fast-moving and was hard to catch after we put it in the bucket with the other animals, which were all released within 15 minutes.

Frassed - Dytiscidae
Moved from ID Request.

Dytiscid larva?
Looks like a larva of a predaceous diving beetle. Fierce predators on other aquatic insects, etc.
