Barklouse - Valenzuela

Barklouse - Valenzuela
Thompsontown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania, USA
July 31, 2019

This specimen ...
also resembles the female of Propsocus pulchripennis but, as far as I know, it's never been recoded east of the Rockies! For what it's worth.

This one is interesting...
if the antennae are dark to the tip it is a last instar nymph of the macropterous form of Valenzuela nadleri. This form seems rare. Please look for more and get a better shot. I'd love to see the adult macropterous female!!

I'll do my best.
I'm not sure how much better a shot will be possible with my little point-and-shoot, though. :)
