Assuming I am correct in placing is this also the same species? If so, I cannot find any photographs without white legs showing and I cannot match it to anything else. At present I have them in the same file.

I have seen only 4 other Pre-pyraloid Families photos posted so far yet I have 13 in my files. Looking forward to other postings. Amazing to me in 3 nights!

Moved from Hag Moth.

possibly
the "white" leg is tucked under his wing … I am only seeing the two forelegs. The dark patch at the apex suggests this is another Hag Moth.

.
Thank you for the suggestion. I didn't see anything else I thought it could be.

Maybe Beutenmueller's (Spun Glass) Slug Moth
My photo was corrected from Hag Moth on iNaturalist because "FW outer margin straight, not rounded"

Interesting
Hi Rosemary. I see the Beutenmuellers at the ranch and know they can be really weird. Mine have been MUCH lighter, but I went back and looked at my photographs where I have a very clear lateral and I think you are right. I have three other Beutenmuellers photographed from the LA trip. One was the same color as mine at the ranch and three were dark, but I did not get a good lateral of any of them - only those strange foot poses. So, I missed this ID.x

Thanks for catching it!
