i may have a few pics to add. i found this little guy while strolling around the tom s. cooperrider kent bog, northeast ohio. i'll update as soon as i can.

Curculionidae: Pseudanthonomus sp.
Not too sure about the 1 mm, maybe 2 mm?

 
It was tiny, but
you're right, 2mm is more like it.
