Identification help. - Epeorus
Mammoth Lakes , Mono County, California, USA
July 1, 2019
I apologize that this image is of a dead mayfly. I am currently working on a research project at the Sierra Nevada Aquatic Research Laboratory (SNARL) trying to understand how changes in water flow of freshwater streams impact aquatic insect communities and their emergence timing. I would love help identifying this specimen (and additional ones I post) to family, if not genus. From looking at immature insects in the streams, I know that there are for sure Ameletidae, Baetidae, Ephemerellidae, Heptageniidae, Leptohyphidae, and Leptophlebiidae in the specific streams I am looking in. I would love further help with identification of this specimen. Thank you!
