The lighting for this shot was achieved by having a friend hold a pair of synced satellite detachable flashes to illuminate the sides of the pitcher in addition to the "normal" flash fired down the tube. A pair of flashlights would serve the same function. (Cheap trick #47B in my new book which I'm never going to write.)
