Nice photos, John :-)
Note the darkly-infuscated discal cell; red scutellum; fairly-large golden-yellow humeral dashes; yellowish vertex; and overall color pattern indicate this is
Physocephala sagittaria
...all these characters are illustrated in the labelled image below:
And the presence of a
theca
pointing forward from the 5th sternite, together with the hook-like tip of the abdomen, indicates a female.
