Northern White-skipper - Heliopetes ericetorum - male

Northern White-skipper - Heliopetes ericetorum - Male
Griffith Park, Los Angeles County, California, USA
August 9, 2019
Size: approx. i inch wingspan
While following a Cabbage White on a small patch of Cliff Asters, I also saw a smaller white moth-like butterfly (about 2/3 size). The photo isn't great, but I did clearly see a zigzag pattern along the outside of the dorsal forewing and hindwing, with a faint tan stain-like pattern on the underside. Closest match seems to be the Northern White Skipper, which is found in southern California. This would seem to be a male, which exhibit a plainer white dorsal surface with "chevron-like" borders.
