Explanation of Names
Generic epithet indicates a morphology like that of Cacoecia Hübner, now defined as a mostly Holarctic and Oriental genus with six species from Europe and a few from north Africa of a total 100 species. Many of our North American Archips Hübner once resided in Cacoecia.
