Gender in Painted Ladies
Hello, I work at an outdoor education center, and the painted lady larva we got at a conference have turned into beautiful butterflies. How can we tell males from females? If we have both genders, we'd like to try rearing them (provide them the right mating/egg laying habitat), and sustain a colony. Thank you.

Gender in Painted Ladies
I suggest you click on Painted lady link above images at upper right. then find the authors of that "species page" at the bottom. It lists contributers and one of those can help you. I have no experience w sex identity in moths. Good luck.
