Carabus nemoralis eggs + larva - Carabus nemoralis Londonderry, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA May 5, 2004 Size: egg 5 mm
I first learned that the female had laid eggs when I saw a few young black larvae running around in the Carabus nemoralis container. Digging carefully, I found fresh-hatched white larvae, lots of black larvae, a dead larva, an unhatched egg, and one that was in the process of hatching.
