Robber Fly & prey - Laphria thoracica
White Bear Lake, Ramsey County, Minnesota, USA

Hoping for ID on both. Robber Fly tentatively identified as Laphria thoracica. Prey looks like a cantharid, maybe Rhaxonycha, maybe a firefly. Prey was still moving at time of photo. Small suburban native plant garden.
