Orb Weaver in Prairie Grasses - Argiope
Junction City, 15 mi. SE, Bottomland prairie restoration, Geary/Flint Hills/Tall Grass Prairie County, Kansas, USA

Size: 1/2" long
There were many of these subtly colored spiders sitting in the middle of their webs this morning! The webs were anchored to the stems of prairie grasses, Switch Grass and Big Bluestem .

Moved from ID Request. Leaning toward youn A. trifasciata. Note how the spider positions its legs.
