Possible hybrid Western x Eastern Cicada Killer - Sphecius grandis

Possible hybrid Western x Eastern Cicada Killer - Sphecius grandis
Pueblo County, Colorado, USA
July 6, 2018
At this location, Upper Twin Pond Dam on the Pueblo County portion of Chico Basin Ranch, I have photographed over the past few years mostly Sphecius grandis but also Sphecius speciosus and what I think are hybrids between the two species although here on Bug Guide they are called a color morph of Western Cicada Killers from Utah and the Big Bend part of Texas. I think there is the possiblitly they are hybrids because the location of the mixture of orange and black is not always the same. This is one example from August 2018.
