Loxosceles deserta - female

Loxosceles deserta - Female
Cedar Pocket, Littlefield, Mohave County, Arizona, USA
Loxosceles are the only spiders that can spin silk 'freely'. All other spiders require silk to be pulled from their spinnerets in one form or another, such as attachment discs, using legs, friction, etc.
Some good papers and articles regarding this are readily available on the net.
