Pectinate antennae = ♂
For your location, it's hard to completely rule out
Xerochlora mesotheides
. However the wing markings look closer to
Xerochlora viridipallens
, which is a more widespread species. Your's would be the first one from Texas.
EDIT: After checking the wing shape, which is more angled along the costa, maybe
Xerochlora mesotheides
is a better choice. This quality might be gender-related, but I'm not sure.
Also, the discal spots don't seem to show up as well, in most images of
Xerochlora viridipallens
. Maybe the darker coloring makes more sense now, as well.
