For your location, it's hard to completely rule out Xerochlora mesotheides. However the wing markings look closer to Xerochlora viridipallens, which is a more widespread species. Your's would be the first one from Texas.

EDIT: After checking the wing shape, which is more angled along the costa, maybe Xerochlora mesotheides is a better choice. This quality might be gender-related, but I'm not sure.
Also, the discal spots don't seem to show up as well, in most images of Xerochlora viridipallens. Maybe the darker coloring makes more sense now, as well.
