Usechimorpha barberi

Usechimorpha barberi
Galiano Island, British Columbia, Canada
May 4, 2019
Size: ~4 mm
A very rare find. Only the second specimen known to be collected in Canada (other record is from the Brooks Peninsula on Vancouver Island). I sampled this specimen from polypores (Ganoderma applanatum) on a high stump of Bigleaf maple. Only one individual collected. Donated to the Royal BC Museum (Victoria, BC). It is a bit encrusted with debris and difficult to photograph the topography - hoping the diagnostic transverse groove connecting basolateral pronotal groves is shown well.
