Old World Bee ID Request - Coelioxys coturnix - male

Old World Bee ID Request - Coelioxys coturnix - Male
My back garden, Baltimore City County, Maryland, USA
July 16, 2007
Size: small
A few days after I saw this bee on a neighbor's cultivated mint, I observed it in my own garden on Mentha spicata when it started blooming.

Moved
Moved from Coelioxys.

Coelioxys.
Looks like a male Coelioxys to me. Have no idea if it is a native species or not....

If
this is C. coturnix as I suspect then please create a guide page for this and the other images I submitted.

Please note that I have previously requested a guide page for this species in the forum and have done so again.

OK, I'll make the guide page
even though occurrence of this species and its subgenus in the New World remains unpublished in the peer-reviewed literature.

I
am obviously unfamiliar with the process.
