Strange Caterpillar in My Kitchen... - Acronicta thoracica

Strange Caterpillar in My Kitchen... - Acronicta thoracica
Cheyenne, WY, Laramie County, Wyoming, USA
August 21, 2019
Size: ~1"
Muted orange/brown in color. Lavender stripe, black spots, sparse hair, more dense toward the base. 12 segments, including the head. Active, plump. Cute, in a weird way...

The spot pattern is more like thoracica
than superans, and it lookslike thoracica might be up there based on MPG, so we'll move it there and see what folks say.

Acronicta?
Looks to be an Acronicta species but far west of my knowledge to ID to a species.
