Mosquito - Psorophora howardii - female

Mosquito - Psorophora howardii - Female
Peachtree Corners, Gwinnett County, Georgia, USA

Mosquito; maybe (Psorophora sp.) (?) …seems to resemble (Psorophora howardii) (??)

I couldn’t get a measurement before it flew away but it was really large for a mosquito. At first glance I thought it resembled a small Cranefly except for the very large proboscis.

Observed on side of house by a small patch of assorted wildflowers. (Thanks)

Ps. howardii
The only other species in the subgenus is Ps. ciliata, which has a distinct golden median stripe on the scutum as well as at least partly yellow proboscis.
