Green Soldierfly - Odontomyia cincta

Green Soldierfly - Odontomyia cincta
Home Valley, Skamania County, Washington, USA
June 16, 2019
Size: 14 mm
I found this fly to be particularly exciting because not only was it so pretty, but about 3 weeks before, I had found larvae (grub?), in one of the ponds that I frequent (about a mile away from this capture), which I spent a lot of time puzzling over before coming to the conclusion that it must be a soldierfly. I'll add the photo of what I believe may be a larvae of this species here as well. The larvae pupated, but as of 3 months later has not emerged, and I presume it died.
