jaws of Scarites - Scarites

jaws of Scarites - Scarites
Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut, USA
August 27, 2019
Size: ca. 25 mm
Waist of Scarites too, but I cannot find anything with similar coloration.

it is a teneral (recently emerged) specimen

I wondered about that,
but since I had kept it a day before photographing it, I discounted it as a possibility. Still, it did spend most of its time in the refrigerator, which evidently retarded the curing of the exoskeleton. Or else it is a slow process in the first place! Thank you for your helpful comment. I imagine this will not make determining the species any easier....
