Beautiful shiny black and copper colored beetle. Apologies for the bad lighting. Just bought a new flash setup and didn't quite have the settings right :^O

Looks like...
...Chrysobothris chrysoela (family Buprestidae) - an early spring southeastern U.S. species whose larvae bore through dead branches of a variety of deciduous trees.
