No, sorry.
This insect is a blue mud dauber, Chalybion californicum. They might well use the abandoned nests of Trypoxylon politum, but if so, I don't know that it has been documented. Please de-link this wasp from the nest images. Thank you, and keep up the good work:-)

The insects are in the same area as the nests. I have grown-up with them and are sure that the nest and the wasps are connected.
The last time I unlinked a picture, it seperated all the pictures and I had to delete them and start again.
I did not get a real good picture of the wasps because they do not sit still for very long. I tried to take pictures of them as they gathered water, but just too fast.
