Vivid Dancer - Argia vivida - female

Vivid Dancer - Argia vivida - Female
Hansen Dam Recreation Area, Los Angeles County, California, USA
August 29, 2019
Size: 3 to 4 cm.
Swampy wooded area, with shallow standing water, near a small stream. Lots of Odonata, mainly damselflies, primarily Vivid Dancers, blue and grey in color, with a few dragonflies. It is not easy to distinguish a female from an immature male, but in this instance, I believe the brown staining along the dorsal abdomen, as well as the definite brown hue of the eye, tend to indicate a female.
