Rowan's Ravine Provincial Park, Last Mountain Lake area, Saskatchewan, Canada
August 28, 2019
This little larva popped it's head out after we split the dead wood log he was in for fire wood.

From other similar photos I am guessing it is larva from a metallic wood borer beetle.

We do not what tree the wood was from as it was collected from a large communal wood pile, it was clear dry and dead wood, no bark on it.
