Any more pictures?
This is a male of one of the long-haired species (
comatus
group) but I see conflicting species characters. Do you have any more pictures? How much (if any) white is there on the tip of the antenna? Is the end of the mid leg really white or did he just step on something? How many short hairs are there on the basitarsus of the mid leg? How long are the hairs on the tip of the abdomen? Are the genital appendages under the body all dark or pale-tipped?

So sorry, but no more pics.
This fly did its usual dancing about and I just grabbed one shot. The only reason I posted it was to add the family to Charles' list for his property. I doubt the leg had white coloration - stepping in something was more likely. I never have much hope for further IDs on this genus, although they are so beautiful. I'm always just glad when a shot comes out pretty well.
