Oecanthus varicornis moulting from 4th- to 5th-instar - Oecanthus varicornis

Oecanthus varicornis moulting from 4th- to 5th-instar - Oecanthus varicornis
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
August 31, 2019
NOTE regarding off-season sighting: The only reason I have this nymph on Aug 31 in Austin, too late for Oecanthus genus here, is that this is the offspring of indoor-handraised adults. I do not believe there are any Oecanthus in the natural in this area, except as eggs inside stems. Since mid-July the nights have been devoid of Oecanthus songs, and my searches have turned up empty since then.
