We only have one representative of the family in Holland, (Xylophagus ater) .. I found a larva once and reared it to adulthood ;-) so it should have looked familiar ;-(

Stilt-legged Fly?
Try looking in the Stilt-legged Flies, Family Micropezidae.

Or, as has happened before, and probably will again, I was wrong!
