Sphinx moth? - Noctua pronuba

Sphinx moth? - Noctua pronuba
Almonte, Lanark, Ontario, Canada
June 17, 2017
Size: 1.5"
I think this is a Sphingid but the only photos I got were with the wings folded over its back. There are so few photos of Sphingids in that pose that I've never been able to identify it. I'm posting in hopes that someone with more experience might recognize it. Perched on a trunk a foot or so above the ground. I wonder if it might have just emerged from a pupa that day.

Thanks, JoAnne!

This one really puzzled me... no wonder I couldn't find it in the Sphinx Moths.
