Damselfly - Argia alberta - male

Damselfly - Argia alberta - Male
Coachella Valley Preserve, Riverside County, California, USA
April 1, 2019

Moved
Moved from Vivid Dancer.

A. alberta
This is Argia alberta, Paiute Dancer, not A. vivida. The abdomen is basically entirely dark dorsally and the humeral stripe is forked. Please consider moving this image or giving me reasoning for the A. vivida ID. Thank you!

Dates
Check the date ranges. Never seen that early in California.

Date ranges -
A. alberta flies in CA from April - November (Paulson, 2009), same per Kathy Biggs.
Oh, there's an early flight date from February 2008, Coachella Valley Preserve, Riverside County: Kathy Biggs site
Also, I do see the prominent & forked dark humeral stripe, unforked or "rarely forked" in vivida. And then we have the almost all dark abdominal dorsum. Does look more like alberta to me.
