Variegated Meadowhawk - Sympetrum corruptum

Variegated Meadowhawk - Sympetrum corruptum
Los Angeles Equestrian Center, Los Angeles County, California, USA
September 16, 2019
Size: 3 to 4 cm.
An elevated waste area between the intersection of two small tributaries of the Los Angeles River was overgrown with buckwheat, castor bean and telegraphweed and populated by small butterflies, many bees, wasps and flies, and at least two medium-sized dragonflies, including this one, which I believe to be a Variegated Meadowhawk.
