Coras medicinalis juveniles/spiderlings - Coras medicinalis

Coras medicinalis juveniles/spiderlings - Coras medicinalis
Owings Mills, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA
August 29, 2019
Size: 3 - 4 mm
I have been currently raising these specimens; the current findings have been discovered for this species: if possible, they will build the characteristic agelenid sheet and funnel, but the funnel exits near-vertically out of a burrow which leads as close to underground or near underground/obscured by the moss and other foliage on the bottom. I have observed some digging behavior in both these juveniles and their mother in order to create said burrows.

This species is definitely not social, although younger specimens can share a web together, with conflicts over food arising due to intersecting territories.

The above photo was taken with an iPhone 6s, using a 15x macro lens.
