Eupeodes

Eupeodes
Mastic, Suffolk County, New York, USA

I'm pretty sure this is Syrphus ribesii. Confirmation needed.

Moved
Moved from Syrphid Flies.

Eupeodes americanus/pomus ...
Eupeodes americanus/pomus group.... female.
If you could see the side view, you would see tergite 2 has a black margin too. Syrphus doesn`t have the markings on tergite 2 meeting at middle and americanus/pomus group can sometimes have the markings separated too.

Looks more like Eupeodes to m
Looks more like Eupeodes to me - black margin on the abdomen after T2, thorax is the wrong color and too shiny.
