On a roadside plant near cleared cotton fields six or seven miles from San Antonio Bay (intracoastal to the Gulf of Mexico) and Aransas NWR. Closest match to Neoprocris floridana but well out of its range.

NOPE ... it's a moth. Nectering - its uncoiled feeding apparatus is obvious ...
