Satyr Comma - Polygonia satyrus

Satyr Comma - Polygonia satyrus
Skull Valley, (WSW of Prescott 10 miles), Yavapai County, Arizona, USA
September 27, 2007
Found at moist soil site in yard.

Moved from Hoary Comma.

Polygonia satyrus
The pattern and shape of the wings looks more like this species. Also, it's not real clear, but the comma mark below looks big, and hooked at least at one end. I can never get a good photo of these unless they're on a flower, they're too jumpy.

Thanks David J Ferguson
I only got one shot at this one before it left. I had a much better "Photo session" with the Satyr Comma that visited here in mid September. Full wing shots & good underwing images also. Maybe i'll get a Hoary Satyr this season!

Maintenance
As I commented on the image below it would be helpful to the editors (and to the integrity of the guide) if you were to assist in the maintenance of your images. Everyone gets one wrong, but why leave it that way? Sorry if this comes off as rude or demanding.

Thanks for your suggestions....I need them frequently.
We are all humans & none is flawless.....least of all me!
