ID kindly provided by Dr. Ascher. Bee is smaller, by about a third, than an Eastern Carpenter Bee. Abdomen is primarily shiny-black but it does have a couple of broken white strips on the outer portion of it's abdomen (see last two photos). Cross-posted to iNat.
