Pink-edged or Clouded Sulphur? - Colias philodice

Pink-edged or Clouded Sulphur? - Colias philodice
Ringwood, Passaic County, New Jersey, USA
September 7, 2019
I was looking through photos from earlier this month - I though I had been taking pics of a Cabbage White, but upon closer inspection of the photos, I think this might be either a Pink-edged or Clouded Sulphur. Any ID help is appreciated. Thanks.

Clouded Sulphur. Both have pink edges, but Pink-edged doesn't have the double circle on the underside of the hind wing. Also, there are no Bug Guide records of Pink-edged from NJ.

Awesome
OK, great, thank you for that info. Yes, I have only seen the Pink-edged up in the Adirondacks, and I was not sure if they came down this far. The Clouded is not a lifer but I had to look in my records - the only other time I have seen one was in 2015. Thanks a ton, Ken.

Ranges
Hi Stephanie,

If you go to a species on BugGuide and click on "Data" at the top, it'll give you a map with all the states and provinces that have records in the guide for that species. There will also be a chart below the map with date ranges, as well. Can be very useful, although the ranges aren't necessarily complete.
