Orthosia mys - male

Orthosia mys - Male
Eddy Mountains, 3,650', Siskiyou County, California, USA
September 27, 2019
Size: FW = ~16.5 mm
I think this is a stunning Orthosia mys, attracted to light. MPG shows this moth in my area. PNW has a good comparision image and a description that matches this moth well. Also, per PNW "A few individuals have a series of small spots on the veins at the position of the postmedial line." I think we can see those spots on this moth.

I agree!
It is the only Orthosia moth in our area with pink hindwings.
Excellent photos!

Thanks!
Thank you, Jim! He's a particularly photogenic moth, I think.
