Suspected syrfid fly maggot resting on aphid-ridden swamp milkweed - Eupeodes americanus
Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 29, 2019
Seemed pretty torpid. Have seen a different species of syrphid fly maggot (I think) --- a green one, which was much more active--- on the same swamp milkweed plants, which are a hotbed of aphids and their predators at this time of year. Would appreciate a genus on this one; species ID would be just gravy (mmm... maggot gravy...)

The best way to get a genus or species ID would be to rear it to adulthood.
