grasshopper, male, short-winged - Ageneotettix deorum - Male
Mingus Mountain campground, Yavapai County, Arizona, USA

It reminds me of Ageneotettix deorum and Psoloessa texana....but neither match up. The short wings are also odd. Many thanks for solving my conundrum....Denise K.

Ran through Otte's key and couldn't make it into A. brevipennis - which is only supposed to be in the Big Bend region of TX and into MX, not in AZ. Apparently there is a short-winged form of A. deorum (formerly A. deorum curtipennis) only at higher elevations in Arizona and Colorado - the description of which matches up quite well with this male. Otte says that short-winged forms are common around Prescott, Flagstaff, and Springerville, Arizona

But I'm not super familiar with that group of gomphocerines, so I wasn't sure.
