Image 4: Not a Polistes dominula but the ruined carcass of the victim of one. Here the killer wasp has flown away and, this time, appears to have not carried away any body parts. ((2nd link below)

Thus my question: Why did the wasp attack the spider? Could putting a bite on it for five minutes explain?
