Yes; Eristalis stipator..... female.
Pictures of the abdomen would help.
Broad grey/white dusting on frons with darker central stripe in females.

Eristalis - reminds of E. ten
Eristalis - reminds of E. tenax habitus but I can't see the eye hair stripes on this fly.

Upon seeing further images via email, definitely not E. tenax. I think this is E. stipator (via Martin's key) but would welcome a second opinion.
