Size: ~8mm
Saw this guy mid-afternoon in our yard on
Ceanothus
. Maybe a species of
Lasioglossum
? (live oak/chaparral habitat).

No Halictid Bee...
As the nearly straight so-called basal vein of forewing indicates. This one bee could be an Andrena sp, but on the other hand, some Melitta too have the same habitus. Expertise of Dr Ascher is needed.
