Beetle - Tarpela undulata

Beetle - Tarpela undulata
Cary, Wake County, North Carolina, USA
May 15, 2005
Found this one inside the house. This is a longhorned beetle, right? Not sure what was going on with the wings, looks like they are damaged. Any clues on subfamily or genus?

Tenebrionidae.
This is a darkling beetle. Might possibly be a species of Tarpela, but this is an incredibly diverse family so I am hesitant to say definitively.

Tarpela undulata, i believe
*

undulata is restricted to FL and americana is not a synonym

Darkling beetle
Thanks for the ident.. I am placing it in Tarpela for now.. the specimen was around 14-17mm, but unfortunately I did not get an exact measurement.

Size?
How long was this beetle, not counting antennae?

Beetle
I don't know what kind of beetle it is but I have been told that sometimes the wings do not get folded properly when put away but this does no harm to the beetle.
