Moved
Moved from Crambini.

I would have leaned towards
5379 -- Mottled Grass-veneer Moth.

I have a hard time
I can't really tell the two apart. I keep comparing it to something like this one, and they all look the same to me.

I understand
John. I'm just feeling my way through as well. The image you referenced is one of my "fresh" ones. I also see a lot with the brown streaking like on your current one and those I've been calling "old" because of their similarity to the images at MPG.

Hmmmm...
Either would be cool. Not many images of either, and I think it would be a first for NJ as well. Problem is they are not even in the same genus, so playing it safe is somewhere up around tribe :-(

Agreed.
J.D. or Bob may be able to enlighten us further.

Parapediasia teterella
Can tell it's Parapediasia by the well-defined, straight (with one bend) subterminal line -- the one a couple of millimeters in from the end, warm yellow-brown shadowed by silver-gray. Runs parallel to the wing edge along the dorsal portion, then bends in a shallow "V" & veers inward.

Thanks
I appreciate the help
