Green Bee - Agapostemon splendens - female

Green Bee - Agapostemon splendens - Female
St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, USA
March 29, 2008
Unfortunately, this little bee was a little camera shy. Hopefully an ID can be made from this angle.

Agapostemon splendens
female

Thanks to both of you!
I've had fun watching these bees in my new garden. Not shy at all until I tried to take a picture. Go figure. I appreciate the ID.

Maybee...
This looks to be a female sweat bee in the genus Agapostemon, maybe. Looks just a tad too robust and hairy to be something in the Augochlorini tribe, but you should look at those guide pages as well.
